Paulus Traudenius was governor of Formosa for the Dutch East India Company from 1640 to 1643. Some Chinese sources render his name as 陶德.

In his three years the Company's rule spread farther from Tayouan than at any time before. On 11 April 1641 he presided at Saccam over the first assembly formally called the Landdag, attending with thirty officials; the indigenous delegates numbered forty-two from fourteen villages. The governor sat in a raised pavilion, the delegates at lower tables.

Early in 1642, to avenge the junior merchant Maarten Wesselingh, killed in the east, he took troops to Pimaba and, together with Pimaba warriors, attacked Nicabon and Tammalaccauw. His order was a single sentence: Tammalaccauw would be subject to Pimaba from now on. In February the army went back overland from Pimaba across the Tjaccovokang mountains to Tayouan.

That August he sent troops north against Keelung; the Spanish garrison surrendered and northern Taiwan came under Tayouan. For the first time the whole island answered to one government — though the places it could actually reach were still few.

He left office in 1643 and died the same year.
